Sunday 28th September 2025
This Sunday, the 15th after Trinity, we have the great joy of celebrating Revd. Suzanne’s 25 years of ordained ministry. Suzanne has served faithfully in parishes across Reading—St Barnabas, St John & St Stephen’s, St. Matthew’s and now here with us at St. John’s, Woodley. Over those years she has preached, prayed, laughed, cried, baptised, married, buried and broken bread with countless people, always pointing them to the love of Christ.
It is only right, then, that on this special occasion Suzanne herself will be preaching and presiding over Communion. Do come and join us as we give thanks not only for Suzanne’s ministry, but for the God who called her, equipped her and continues to work through her today.
This will be a Sunday of thanksgiving, encouragement and joy—so please bring friends and family as we celebrate together. After all, ministry is never just about one person: it’s about the whole body of Christ, living out God’s mission in every place he calls us. Please note, there will NOT be a bring-and-share lunch after the service as originally planned, but all are welcome to join Suzanne at the Bull & Chequers afterwards.
P.S. A big thank you for all your prayers and encouragement as I attended the National Diversity Awards in Liverpool over the weekend. To my surprise, I was one of the winners! It was a humbling and joyful moment and I felt carried by your support. You can watch the award presentation and my acceptance speech here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXt2hRzp_J8
