Sunday 7th December 2025

We are now firmly in the season of Advent—that time of watching and waiting, of light kindling in the darkness. And this weekend marks one of St. John’s most joyful traditions: our Annual Christmas Tree Festival!

From Friday to Sunday (11.00am onwards each day), the church will be filled with sparkle, song, and the scent of pine. Come along to admire the trees decorated by local charities, schools, and community groups—each one sharing a message of hope and goodwill. There’ll be hot drinks, mince pies, crafts for the family, and plenty of festive cheer. It’s a lovely way to bring friends and neighbours into the warmth and welcome of St. John’s. Our local MP–Yuan Yang–and our local Mayor–David Bragg–are coming to switch on the lights on the Friday at 11.00am, so please do join us for this special launch!

On Sunday morning, we’ll gather for a Family Service, perfect for inviting others along. Revd. Mark will be speaking on Isaiah 11: 1–10 – “The Peaceful Kingdom.” As we stand among the Christmas trees, we’ll be reminded that each tree points upward to God, stays evergreen like His love, and shines with light that no darkness can overcome. The Christmas tree itself becomes our teacher, whispering that hope is alive and growing—right here among us in Woodley.

Every blessing,

Mark
