St. John the Evangelist, Hailey

We are one of six Church of England churches in the Benefice of Witney. Saint John the Evangelist church is in the middle of the village of Hailey, 2 miles north of Witney. We are a warm, welcoming, and outward-looking congregation, and the church remains a focal point for village life.

The church was built in 1869 and is a fine example of Victorian architecture, Oxford style.

We pride ourselves on being a warm welcoming and friendly community embracing a hospitable Christianity.

The heart of our life is our worship. We treasure the Eucharist and singing.

We are fully committed to being an eco-church with the churchyard set aside as a source of biodiversity and natural sanctuary. We have achieved the Rocha silver award.

We are an outward looking church that strives to show God’s love in our actions towards others.
