Our Building
St Peter's is Grade 1 Listed (the same category as Westminster Abbey) and evidence of the 12/13th Century Norman church is still visible. Self-guide leaflets to "Ten things You Really Shouldn't Miss" are available at the entrance.
A well-stocked church library is located in the South-west corner of the church.
Nearly all of St Peter's windows are made of stained glass dating from Medieval to 19th century. A guide is available in the library.
Two toilets are located in the South porch which is the main public entrance to the church.
Music and Worship
We have a full peal of well used and tuned bells and an active team of ringers. Please contact the tower captain Diane Awkati for more information, tel. 07748 567911
St Peter's has wonderful acoustics and these are put to good use with a regular series of concerts featuring sacred and secular music
The Conacher organ was completely rebuilt in 2006 by Trevor Tipple and is played from a remote console which has a full-range of stops.
Groups, Courses and Activities
The tomb of Sir Edward Grey, now located at the East end of the North aisle is surmounted by a fine brass plaque. On top of this is a facsimile plaque which is available for brass rubbing. Please contact the church in advance to arrange your visit.
Help for Visitors
In 2025 we published "Rock of Ages", edited by local author and member of the congregation Martin Wall. This tells the story of the church and its place in the history of Kinver. Fully-illustrated copies are available for sale in church priced £5
The church is now open seven days a week during daylight hours
You are welcome to sit and pray in any pew or at the altar rail. A more private space for prayer is to be found in the Foley Chapel.

Our churches are places of welcome and inclusion for all, and we're delighted that we're now able to offer prayers of thanksgiving, dedication, and blessing for our LGBTQ+ siblings. If you'd like to explore what this might look like for you then Rev'd Rich would be delighted to chat it through with you.
