Ride and Stride- it was a lovely day on Saturday morning for Ride and Stride but got rather rainy later on! Well done to all the cyclists who got involved, especially our loyal local supporters. Both St James and All Saints welcomed the Ride and Striders and some visitors and offered much needed refreshments- thanks to everyone who helped with refreshments and opened the churches to our visitors.
A big thanks to all who attended and who helped in any way at the Messy Church Picnic on the Beach session at St James’ Church, Acton Trussell on 8th August. The sun shone and we had a happy time with our ‘beach’ themed and fishy story and activities. After the parachute games we shared a lovely picnic round the ‘campfire’ in the churchyard and those who attended left looking forward to the next Messy Church session.By the way please save the date for the Christingle at St James, Acton Trussell on 24th December at 2pm.
At the Patronal Service at St James‘ Church, Acton Trussell on 27th July 2025, on the occasion of his 90th birthday and to recognise his decades of devoted service to St James’ Church, a certificate was presented to Len Bates BEM. This recorded that Leonard Arthur Bates BEM is granted the title Church Warden Emeritus of St James’ Church, Acton Trussell. The congregation along with Len, Rev Delphine Howarth and Rev Dr David Primrose celebrated with cakes and refreshments after the service.
