This service of Holy Communion follows Common Worship and uses the same hymns and sermon as the upcoming Sunday. It is an ideal worship opportunity for those who struggle to attend on Sunday mornings, whether through work, health or family committments, and for those who simply prefer a smaller quieter service.

Featuring a palm procession, and blessing of palm crosses. Our Hoodie children's choir will be leading our sung worship.

Family Communion

This is our main Sunday service of Holy Communion, with sermon. We follow the Common Worship liturgy with seasonal variations. Hymns are led by our Hoodie children's choir, accompanied by organ. Once a month we have more contemporary music led by our worship band. Junior Church, for Primary and preschool age children, takes place at the same time, and the children join us towards the end of the service. Coffee is served afterwards.

Junior Church

This takes place at the same time as our main church service, in the Oak Room Hall attached to the church. Children join with the adults for a blessing during communion, and a "show and tell" session at the end. Aimed at preschool and primary age children. Parents are welcome to stay with their children if needed. All leaders and helpers are fully DBS checked and have undergone appropriate safeguarding training.
Junior Church runs during school term time.

Choral Evensong

This is a traditional choral evensong, featuring our 4-part choir singing traditional English service settings, responses and anthems. We have very experienced professional choir director and organist. A time to be still in the presence of God and soak up the worship. The service includes 3 congregational hymns and a short sermon.

We meet each week for a relaxed communion service in the Lady Chapel

Maundy Thursday Eucharist

for 1 hour, 15 mins

Communion service with anthems sung by our 4-part choir. There will be an opportunity for foot/hand washing as we remember Jesus's Last Supper with his friends. After the communion, the lights will be dimmed and the altar and other furnishings will be stripped, while the choir sings a psalm of lament in the traditional plainsong. We spend time in silence remembering the agony and desolation that Jesus experienced in Gethsemane, and the choir leaves "in disarray".

Good Friday Tenebrae meditation

This is an opportunity to enter in to the events of the first Good Friday, with congregational and choral music, Scripture readings, and imaginative meditations. It ends in silence and darkness

Easter Sunday Celebration
