Parish Profile
Our Church
The Church was built in 1851 by Sir Oswald Mosley (2nd Bt) of Rolleston Hall. It was originally called ‘Needwood Church’ but was later dedicated to the Holy Trinity, hence the name we have today. The Church is Grade ll listed due to its Normanesque features and sits in a picturesque setting surrounded by lush fields and livestock. The stained glass windows at the east end are a sight to behold as you enter the Church.
The worship area can seat 100 people comfortably, including in the choir stalls. The well-loved organ is used weekly. We have a small vestry, which can also be accessed from the outside, and a welcoming meeting space and kitchen.
Our community
Holy Trinity today is a vibrant, warm and welcoming community of dedicated people many of whom have worshipped here for generations. There are 34 on the electoral role and the congregation varies from 15 to 30 people on a weekly basis rising considerably for festivals and special services.
Our Worship
Our Sunday Worship each week is at 11.15 a.m. and the current pattern of worship is:
1st Sunday: Morning Prayer- Common Worship
2nd Sunday: Holy Communion - Common Worship
3rd Sunday: Morning Prayer - BCP
4th Sunday: Holy Communion - Common Worship
5th Sunday Joint ART Benefice Service
Our hymns are taken from Mission Praise. Services vary between Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship.
We celebrate Baptism Anniversaries. Baptised children and their families are invited to return to Church each year on the aniversary to receive a gospel book and to re-light their baptism candle. This is an important part of Church life.
What’s On
A dedicated and enthusiastic team hold many fundraising events throughout the year including, amongst other events: 2 Skittle nights, a concert, a summer garden party, Harvest Supper, Christmas Market and Carol Singing around the village. The events are popular with villagers and the congregation and are very well supported.
Our Churchwardens, PCC members, Treasurer and Deanery Synod representatives are a dedicated group and always have Holy Trinity in their hearts when making decisions that affect the congregation and our parishioners.
Communication and Outreach
We share a monthly Parish Magazine and weekly notices “News in the Pews” with the other ART Churches. Subscription is high (75 currently in Anslow) and they are well received. Many of the recipients receiving the monthly magazine cannot get to Church and it is a way of keeping them up to date with Church events and village news.
The Church building and the surrounding grounds are well cared for by dedicated individuals and a team with regular working parties. The award-winning grounds are a feature that receive many compliments from visitors including the bereaved.

Our congregation - what we value about Holy Trinity
When asked, the congregation of Holy Trinity are clear that they see the church as an important extension of their families. A welcoming community who share the good and the bad times together. With whom we have fun, work hard to fund our church and worship together through a variety of traditional services on a weekly basis.
Our Vision for Holy Trinity
For the love of God, to grow the active congregation of Holy Trinity to include more families and younger adults by providing services and other activities that appeal to a broader audience, while retaining the engagement of the existing loyal congregation.
