The speaker for the September meeting is Marion Armstrong, someone who has come to talk to members on several occasions in the past. Marion is always entertaining, and we can be assured of a stimulating meeting. Her topic is 10 Inspiring Women, which links in with WI Day on 16th September. Everyone will have come across a woman who has inspired them to greater things. Someone locally who I think is inspiring is Mary Adela Blagg who was the first person to map the moon. Indeed, her map was used up until the 1960s. Mary was educated at home and never left her hometown but corresponded with scientists of her day. Did you know she had a crater named after her?

The question is who will be Marion’s ten inspirational women? Why not come along to find out?

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in Sandon Parish Rooms, Lichfield Road, Sandon at 7-30pm.
