Most of the works are now complete and will bring great pleasure to our congregation and visitors. We already have new notice boards both inside and out and we are working on display boards and leaflets to further improve the information available to visitors. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust brought lots of activities for our Bio Blitz Day in May. Enthusiastic young entomologists had a super time in the long grass using large nets to catch an interesting selection of beetles, weevils and flies. The SWT staff were very knowledgeable and helped everyone identify some unusual looking insects as well as plants and trees. There were some nature crafts on offer as well, with some beautiful flower crowns and clay creatures made using natural materials found around the grounds. Visitors also had the opportunity to take part in our new Butterfly and Moth Trail, searching for wooden butterflies and moths beautifully decorated by members of Oak Tree Farm Rural Project. The trail will be in the churchyard until September – goody bags and prizes available. Save the Dates - our planned activities. Heritage Open Day Sunday 20th September.
