What does the word " Advent" actually mean writes Doreen English ? In this weeks reflection she discovers how Advent has been celebrated throughout  the ages , beginning in  the 4 th Century and right up to  present day. She continues to reflect on what Advent means for us today as we are reminded that we are not only preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus but we are also waiting for the return of Christ.
