St Andrew’s PCC Meeting Minutes
On Tuesday 10th March the Parochial Church Council of St. Andrew’s Church met for their meeting and decided that a summary of the unratified minutes will from now, be published in the Compass Magazine, with a full copy available at the back of church.
This is the first summary of those minutes.
Several trees at the back of church which are in a dangerous condition will be topped or removed during March.
Remedial work on the church roof etc. will begin shortly.
The Parish finances remain stable, but continued support through regular giving and fundraising will be important as we meet ongoing commitments.
A number of Safeguarding issues were addressed, namely Public Liability Insurance, the hiring of the Church Room, First Aid equipment and Health and Hygiene legislation. All these issues are taken very seriously by the PCC and continue to be at the forefront of the church meetings.
A Healthy and Safe Church Culture was addressed with structure and governance being good, safeguarding across the Team being exceptional, well led, well managed and issues dealt with appropriately.
Eco Church remains at the forefront of our meetings, with Fair Trade and purchases through SUMA.
Fundraising is one of the most important issues on the agenda as funds need to be raised continually to support the work of our church, along with fulfilling our obligations to Lichfield Diocese and the repair and upkeep of St. Andrew’s.
Once ratified, a full copy of these minutes will be available at St. Andrew’s church.

Welcome to St. Andrew's Church in Weston.

Our lovely 12th century church has a welcoming congregation, fully committed to sharing and spreading the word of God within our village and the wider community. We are equally committed to maintaining the beautiful building and welcoming visitors whether it be for the first time or a return visit. A Norman church which is built of local sandstone. Subsequent restoration has meant that it is now in a style typical of the early 13th century, and the bell tower dates from that period. The church underwent extensive restoration and enlargement in 1872.

Services at St Andrew's take place either at 9-30am or 11-15am with a breakfast service on the fourth Sunday of the month. This service is open from 9-30am where a full English breakfast is on offer, there are also healthy options available. The Lay Led Service starts at 10-00am and is a shorter, more relaxed occasion (no communion).

An activity table and toys are available for children in Church during all services.
Large print service and Hymn Books are available. Our church is accessible to all, with ramps at the entrance and the Chancel. An audio and loop system is in place. There is a toilet in the church room, however it is not accessible to all. Ample parking to the right of the church is available.
Special services take place at St. Andrew's, including Christmas services, Christingle, Easter, Harvest Festival and Nine Lessons and Carols. An outdoor Remembrance Day service takes place at the War Memorial within Weston Village and is always well attended, with hot drinks served in the local pub afterwards.
