Latest news from the Parish of Goring by Sea. 26th. November 2020.

Parish Office. Email: [email protected] Tel: 01903 709163 Advent 2020

It is with great joy and thanksgiving that we can announce our return to

worship in our churches from Sunday 6th. December 2020.

“In all tiers… communal worship can now resume, subject to relevant social

contact rules in each tier” UK Government Rules and Restrictions.

Church Services

The majority of this week’s newsletter is given to providing you with as much information as possible about services for Advent and Christmas. Please register for all Church services at the Parish Office. ‘Family/Support bubbles’ please ‘Book a Pew’ giving details of who will be in your bubble (up to 6 people). If you have previously registered for repeat, please can you confirm with the office that you wish to remain on the repeat list, and remember to inform the office if at any time you are not able to attend. The repeat list does not cover special Advent and Christmas services.

Face coverings should be worn in church at all services.

A gentle reminder: it would be very much appreciated that unless you have a duty i.e. sanitising the church or putting away equipment, everyone should leave our churches as quickly and as quietly as possible after a service. However remember you can enjoy conversations and fellowship outside or away from the church building subject of course to relevant social contact rules in each tier.

Carols Around the Crib – Help Urgently Needed!

We are in the process of creating a 2/3-life size stable and silhouette nativity scene in the Molson Garden. This is to tell the Christmas story (with links to Facebook) in the week before Christmas and to be the setting for Carols Around the Crib, when we hope our wider community will join us.

Plans are well under way but we could really do with some extra help with cutting out the silhouettes and painting them. If you possess a jig saw and have an hour or two to spare please let us know, we will provide and deliver the materials to your own house. Painting will most likely be a one off event at the Garden, date to be confirmed. Please email any offer of help to Gill at: [email protected]

Cleaner required for St Laurence’s Hall

A cleaner required for St Laurence’s hall: this is a paid position for 4 hours each week for 39 weeks each year (term-time), initially this would be on a fixed-term six month contract. To apply or for more details please contact Ruth Jepson [email protected] or phone 01903 620080.

Poppy Appeal

We have been informed that the amount collected from the sale of poppies was £73.50 and with the purchase of wreaths making the total donation £123.50.

Pastoral visits

Please let Fr. Keith or the Wardens know if you have a personal pastoral concern or may know of someone in need. God Bless,

Gill, Janice, Ruth and Geoff.
