Lent, Traidcraft and Fairtrade

With Lent just two weeks away, Traidcraft invites us to “Keep Lent the Traidcraft Way”. Go on-line to access this through the Traidcraft website for easy-to-do ideas and prayers. www.traidcraft.co.uk

Fairtrade Fortnight is from 22nd February until 7th March when we are particularly encouraged to buy and use fairly-traded goods. For more information about Fairtrade visit www.fairtrade.org.uk.

Kate Henwood, who looks after Traidcraft for the Parish, would love to hear from you if you need anything ordered from the company. Please contact Kate by phone, 07818 691922, or email [email protected]

An update from FSW

Last Christmas was, of course, very different from usual for our families as it was for everybody. We weren't able to hold our usual Christmas parties, pantomime trips or carol services but we still were able to provide all our families with special Christmas treats and presents. We received an incredible number of donations throughout November and December from local churches, schools and other organisations, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who contributed in any way.

Our foodbank is well stocked with many of our staple items thanks to the generosity of supporters in the run-up to Christmas. However, if you are collecting items for the foodbank at the moment we are in need of the following items only:

Jams and spreads,

Tinned meat (chilli, curry etc.), Long life juices,

Cleaning products, Toothpaste

n.b. Items can be left in the basket in the porch at St. Mary’s Church

The latest issue of the diocesan magazine, Faith in Sussex is now available as a PDF to download or read

https://cofechichester.contentfiles.net/media/documents/document/2021/02/FIS_Issue29c.pdf

You will find it packed as always with news, views, features, and pictures - sharing YOUR stories from around the diocese and the wider Church. Its pages aim to serve the goal of bringing us together as a diocesan family around a commitment to mission and growth.

Due to Covid - they are unable to print copies in large quantities. They do have a small print number for those who are unable to access a digital copy. Please contact the communications department or call Lisa Williamson on 07775022461.
