The angels sang that first Christmas of a peace which seems a far cry from the world we live in today. This year alone has seen Russian tanks invade Ukraine, the assassination of a former Prime Minister of Japan, wildfires rage through homes in Spain, nineteen children shot dead in an American primary school, queues across the world for food and fuel, and millions displaced because of war. And that is only the tip of the iceberg.

Where is this peace that the angels promised would come through the birth of the Christmas child? Where is the peace our world longs for? It seems so distant. And yet this promise of God announced that first Christmas is, in fact, a reality. And it’s a deeper peace than we ever imagined...
