“The darkest hour before the dawn…”

Good Friday is a time to dwell on the stark reality of Jesus’ death for us. For Christians now of course there is a glorious side to this…we live this side of the resurrection, but the service on Good Friday allows us to be reminded that we have a God who suffered…who went to the cross out of love for us.

The service is short, normally 30-40 minutes and has readings, silences and reflections. It’s not packed full, it’s a service with space for your thoughts, your meditation and to think about your relationship with God.

The parish of Hove: St Andrew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Chichester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
