PARISH GIVING SCHEMEThis scheme, run by the Church of England, replaces the traditional way of donating to the church during a service & we would like to encourage anyone who hasn’t already done so to join up to give to All Saints’ or St Michael’s in this way. The way the scheme works is explained in the leaflets that can be found on the table to the right of the door. Your donation is completely confidential, you can sign up to donate as much or as little as you wish and that amount will be deducted on a regular basis from your bank account once you have completed the form and returned it to the Parish Giving Team. You don’t have to do anything else!The scheme has several big advantages in the way it works, because the accounting is all done by the scheme administrators who simply report the monthly income figures to the Church. Furthermore, this way of giving on a regular basis also means that the Treasurer can more accurately forecast this element of donation income, using the monthly statement provided.Many thanks in advance – Reverend Sally Bottomer.
Why be married in Church?A marriage service, wherever it is held, is a public declaration of love and commitment to your partner. If you choose to get married in church, there is an added dimension - the assurance that God cares about your relationship and that his resources and strength are available to help you.So can you be married at one of our Churches?We will do everything we can to enable you to do so.Here’s how it works:You have a legal right to marry in the Church of England parish church where you or your fiancé(e) lives.If at least one of you hasn’t lived in one of the 3 Parishes of the Benefice (Aston Clinton, Buckland or Drayton Beauchamp) for at least six months, you will need to demonstrate a connection with the Church where you wish to be married. The 750th Anniversary Celebrations took place between Thursday 15th June to Sunday 18th June. Within All Saints' church each day 10am - 4pm there was:1) A display of Buckland Historic memorabilia2) A Flower Festival3) A Book of Presence for all visitors to sign4) Historical Memorabilia collected and displayed5) Art produced by the Aston Clinton School childrenThere were refreshments with homemade cake available each day between 10am - 12 noon.On Saturday 17th June, there was a plant sale within the church and an evening reception from 7pm with live piano music and a cash bar.The celebrations culminated in a Benefice Sung Eucharist service led by Bishop Alan at 10.30am on Sunday 18th June followed by music & refreshments in the churchyard.
All Saints' which is mentioned in the Domesday Book and has over 3000 people buried in our churchyard since 1273 and we feel we owe it to future generations to keep the church in good order.The old worn out louvres on the South side of the tower need replacing and the tower clock has stopped working.Would you participate in these 2 essential projects by donating one penny per year of the church's history (£7.50) or 10 pence per year (£75.00) or even one pound for each year (£750.00).Any and every donation will be very much appreciated and once our target has been reached, there will be an evening reception and drinks for all donors to the appeal.Please contact our treasurer Kate Eckett at kaeckett@icloud.com or call 01296 630461 / 07900 828621 to register and pledge your donation.
