This week’s Pantry Social Meal was a joyful occasion, made possible by Establo Lounge, who paid for and served a delicious roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings to 64 Pantry users, followed by an indulgent gateau for dessert. Members of the Establo team offered a warm welcome and attentive service, while Kirsty and Aaron from FA Holland Funeral Care worked tirelessly in the kitchen to ensure everything ran smoothly. We were also pleased to have Hazel from Citizens Advice, who was able to support local people on the day. Alongside the meal, 75 people collected food from the Pantry. We are hugely thankful to everyone who supports our Pantry, which offers not just food but care, dignity, friendship and practical support to our local community. If you are able to donate, we are currently short of milk, pasta sauce, pasta, biscuits and toilet rolls. With heartfelt thanks, The Pantry Team
We are so pleased that we have been awarded the Bronze Eco Church Award Certificate
Thank you!Firstly, for the Easter eggs - you have truly excelled yourselves. In fact, we now have so much chocolate that the dentists of Sussex will be kept busy for quite some time! Every family receiving food bank deliveries has received an egg for every child and adult, and we are just starting to distribute a second round.Thank you also to the churches that responded to our Lent appeals. The shop stockroom is groaning with donations, and we are seeing a steady stream of support through Lent lunches, Mothering Sunday collections, and generous individual contributions to our work.Thank you to the Mayor of Seaford for hosting our lunch on 28th March, to all the guests who supported us, and especially to Liz Morgan-Jones for donating her late husband’s artwork. The sale raised almost £1,000.At a time when so much of the news feels negative, it is a real joy to be able to share such positive updates. Your generosity is making a genuine difference, our families are benefiting, and 12 of them have just enjoyed a weekend away at Dalesdown, along with a wide range of Easter activities. This is all thanks to you. This weekend is a busy one for FSW. We will be at the Arlington Bluebell Walk on Friday - do come and see us if you can. There will be cake, sandwiches, homemade soup, and plenty of treats, but the real highlight is the walk through the woods, with bluebells just coming into bloom. If Friday isn’t convenient, there will be cake, coffee, and the wonderful Choir & Ko at All Saints, Lindfield on Saturday, with tickets still available. We also look forward to returning on 23rd April to provide refreshments at the Old Rectory, Warbleton, where over 10,000 tulips will be in full display. As winter fades and spring begins to flourish, let’s continue working together to make this a great year for families across Sussex. With my best wishes,Martin and the FSW Team
