Ride+Stride is an annual fundraising activity organised by Historic Churches Trust. It is a wonderful way to visit some of the beautiful historic churches in our area, enjoy the wonderful scenery and raise much-needed funds at the same time.

So how does it work, it is open for all ages and you can walk, cycle or even horse ride around our local churches, visit as many as you like, plan your own route or join our group, who will visit a number of churches together following a family friendly route, and get sponsored from friends, relations and colleagues, either per church visited or for the event. Sponsorship funds are split with 50% going directly to St Mary’s or your chosen Church and the other 50% to the Sussex Historic Churches Trust (SHCT) fund. Funds raised help support urgent repairs and restoration for historic churches across the Peninsula and Sussex.

St Mary's will be open from 9am to 5pm for visitors to come and explore the church with refreshments available.

There are a few ways you can get involved: Join in the walk or cycle activity, volunteer for an hour to welcome visitors to church, sponsor the walkers, riders and striders – a JustGiving page is available if you wish to donate: www.justgiving.com/page/sidlesham-church.

After the activity you are welcome to join us for a BBQ outside the Parish Rooms - everyone is welcome whether you are taking part, greeting family members that have taken part or just coming to join us for some food and company. We would appreciate it if you can let us know you are coming so that we can cater accordingly.
