Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals

Baptism of a child or adult will usually take place during our normal weekly Sunday services, when the child or adult is welcomed into our church family. If you wish to have your child baptised please contact the Rector on [email protected]. If you prefer a thanksgiving ceremony this can also be arranged.

Weddings

We are delighted to arrange a wedding for anyone who is resident in the parish or who has a recognised qualifying connection with the parish. It is also a pleasure to arrange a marriage blessing in church. Please contact the Rector on [email protected]. 

Funerals

We can help with a funeral, whether you wish a cremation or a burial, and whether you wish a service at the crematorium or at one of the churches, and will liaise with the funeral directors as necessary. East Dean and Singleton churchyards are open for burials for those who have a connection to the parish. West Dean churchyard is now closed for burials although we have a Garden of Remembrance in all our churchyards for a Burial of Ashes.

Fees The Church of England has a standard fee rate for weddings and funerals, details of which can be found in the attachment below. There is no charge for baptisms (apart from for a certificate) although donations to our church funds are usual, and much valued.
