Common Worship Holy Communion service in the Lady Chapel.

At Be Still we pray silently not only for people who are acutely ill, but also those with long-term health problems. We also pray for people facing all sorts of difficulties and challenges, such as struggling businesses, job interviews, starting at college or university, financial and other worries. We pray for people by name or anonymously.

A service for all the benefice combining contemporary worship songs with traditional hymns, prayers and address. With Holy Communion on the 3rd Sunday of the month. CONNECT young people's group is held at 10am in the Church Room, Pound Road in term time.

A quiet end to the day in the Lady Chapel at West Wittering Church. The order of service is Book of Common Prayer with Old and New Testament Bible readings, prayers, as well as canticles (Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis) and psalms which we say together.

All age service to give thanks for our mothers and all who have given us a mother's love. Posies distributed!

We start our service in the Church Room, Pound Road, and then walk in procession to the church to continue the service. Palm crosses are distributed. People who are less mobile may prefer to sit in the church and wait for the short procession to arrive. The service includes a dramatised reading of the Passion Gospel. This extract from the Bible describes the trial and crucifixion of Jesus which he suffered for love of us. "He died that we might be forgiven, he died to make us good, that we might go at last to Heaven, saved by his precious blood" (C.F. Alexander)

The Stations of the Cross represent different events of the final hours in the earthly life of Jesus. We walk round the church stopping at each station for reflection and prayers.

This Maundy Thursday service starts joyfully as we celebrate the gift of the Eucharist instituted by Jesus at the Last Supper. As the service progresses the mood becomes more solemn and sad as we move nearer to Good Friday. There is an opportunity for the congregation to have their feet washed as the disciples had theirs washed by Jesus at the Last Supper. At the end of the service the altar frontal and other furnishings are stripped so that the church looks bare - a reminder of how Jesus was deserted and left alone in Gethsemane and stripped of his clothes at his Crucifixion. After the service is ended at about 8pm we keep the church open until 10.00pm so that people may sit or kneel in silence "watching with Him".

Solemn service with readings, prayers, Holy Communion from Reserved Sacrament and an opportunity to stand or kneel before the Cross for a silent, personal 'thank you' to Jesus for dying for love of us.

This is a wonderfully joyful start to our celebration of Easter! The lights of the church are dimmed and the congregation, all with small unlit candles, gather outside the porch where a new fire is kindled. The Paschal Candle, symbolising Christ, the Light of the World, is prepared and lit and the light is carried through the church and progressively passed to the whole congregation. The Exsultet, that great Easter song of praise, is sung and then, during the singing of the Gloria, all the lights of the church are switched on and every candle is lit and the great round stone in the Easter Garden is rolled away revealing the empty grave clothes. We renew our Baptismal Vows and end with joyful prayers.
