Calling all runners and walkers!

The Seagrave Wolds Challenge is in its 18th consecutive year and has raised over £110,000 for local charities and others that villagers have had a connection with. Founded by local resident Chris Thompson to encourage exploration of the rolling countryside around Seagrave, and to raise money for the refurbishment and upkeep of Seagrave Memorial Hall and other good causes, Seagrave church is very grateful to have been a significant beneficiary over the years. Others include Seagrave school, Seagrave WI, LOROS, a local food bank, Mountsorrel & Rothley Community Heritage Centre, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance, Burton Community Woodland and a host of national charities, with a now annual donation to the Royal British Legion.

The event is a challenge, not a race, so you can take time to stop for refreshments en route and to enjoy the local countryside. Seagrave's catering seems to enjoy an unsurpassed reputation! The event is run on an entirely voluntary basis and there is always room for more helpers.
