Cost of Whitwick church repairs nearly triples
Masonry repairs, originally estimated to cost just over £9000 recently started on the east gable wall of St John the Baptist Church, Whitwick, a Grade II 2* listed building. Once scaffolding provided access to the top of the wall and repair work commenced, the deterioration of the masonry was found to be much worse that expected. As a result, an additional £16,000 needs to be raised. As the name suggests, this service is designed include something for all ages. It usually includes something particularly focussed at communicating to and including children. As in all our services, the Children's Corner provides a variety of toys, games and books for children who are not in the main body of the church. The worship, as usual, is lively.
