We draw attention to everyone concerned that the Vicar and PCC are required to implement the rules of the Diocese Churchyard Regulations, and we request that all items such as ornaments and decorations are removed from the churchyard. This will ultimately help maintain an environment in which one can more comfortably reflect on the memory of loved ones, and thus will be for the benefit of everyone.We kindly ask that items are removed by 31st August, 2026, Full details are given in the attached document.In addition to the above restrictions on ornaments, owners are also reminded that decorative chippings/pebbles are not allowed including any border or kerb that is proud of the surrounding grass surface. Flower pots should be heavy enough to remain upright, or be spiked into the ground. Ideally they should be placed directly on the grass or alternatively on a flush surface of paving slabs or a stone slab. If the owner wishes to lay paving slabs, it should be done in conjunction with the vicar / sexton and under no circumstances should any excavated material be removed from the graveyard.
We are again collecting unwanted warm coats for Wrap Up Tameside, which is part of the wider Wrap Up UK initiative. Their aim is to collect winter coats for distribution to charities supporting people across the UK who struggle to keep warm during the winter months.The local campaign, being organised by Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club, runs during October and early November with all the items collected being donated to Tameside Women’s Centre and local homeless projects.They need adult and children's warm coats, and all-in-one snow suits for young children. Please do not donate other items of clothing. You can leave donated items in the large collection box next to the kitchen, up to 9th November, thank you!
