After an absence of over a year the Cockerel windvane has returned to the church tower. Originally installed in 1993, it succumbed to a gale and undertook the short (and direct) flight to the churchyard, lovely to see its return.

Thank you very much to those of you who donated produce to decorate the church for our Harvest Festival and onward donation to The Emmaus Charity at Ditchingham. Not only did the church look lovely but Emmaus were most grateful, thank you again.

This very dry summer has had a significant impact on the church yard flora, The ground there is very gravelly and so holds little moisture, as a result the Pyramidal population was well down and no Bee orchids at all. Generally with the exception of the Ox eye daisies which tried very hard to put on a display we had to search quite hard to find many of the species we normally find.

Thinking ahead much looking forward to the annual church quiz in the Village Hall on 22nd November, always popular, please do put it in your diaries, more detais nearer the time.
