Ratby: St Philip & St James

Here in St Philip and St James in Ratby our mission is to share the love of God in Christ Jesus, especially by serving the community of which we are part and so living the gospel we have to share - to love God and to love our neighbours as ourselves.

Everyone is welcome to any of our services or activities and you will find out on these pages the range of different church services and activities we have on offer, with more to be found at our sister church, St Philip and St James in Groby - so do check out what is happening there too, as we work together to bring to love of Jesus to everyone.

Safeguarding

The parish of Ratby: St Philip and St James is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leicester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Key Contacts:

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a young person or vulnerable adult or have been the victim of abuse yourself you can speak to any of the clergy team (Rev’d Dr Ed Bampton, telephone 0116 2396520 or email [email protected]) or speak to our Safeguarding Coordinator Joan Hawkins, telephone 07545 909868 or email her on [email protected].

Alternatively, phone the parish office on 0116 239 3768 and ask that a Safeguarding coordinator call you back.
