SAFEGUARDING (protecting young people and vulnerable adults from being hurt)
The Matlaske Benefice currently cares for the safeguarding in Bessingham. The Matlaske Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. The Matlaske Benefice follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. Due to the nature of the parish of Bessingham, it is necessary to use the PSO who covers each of the parishes in the Matlaske Benefice.
If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Mrs. Catherine McMahon email: [email protected]; Tel 01263 577 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [https://www.dioceseofnorwich.org/safeguarding/contact-our-safeguarding-advisers/].
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
