Snowdrop Sunday

Occurring
for 4 hours
Venue
Thorpe Market: St Margaret
Address
Thorpe Market: St Margaret, Church Road Thorpe Market, NR11 8UA, United Kingdom

On the Sundays we will be running our snowdrop café. There is ample parking and you are sure of a welcome in the warm church by our wonderful volunteers. There will be an art exhibition as well as the chance to browse the second-hand books and relax with friends over hot drinks and our famed home-made cakes before (or after or both!) a gentle walk around the churchyard to see our annual display of nature’s early flowering – the snowdrops. The Wherry Trust will be with us to promote their work to preserve the Broads wherry cruisers.
Our artist today, who is showing on both the Saturday and Sunday of the snowdrop weekends, is;
Rosalie Osborne-Gibb. Rosalie exhibits regularly at St Margaret’s and we are pleased to welcome her once again. With her love and inspiration of coast and countryside, from surf and sunsets to wildlife and landscapes, she will be showing the many aspects of her art in a bright and colourful exhibition. More about Rosalie is at https://www.rosaliegibbart.com/about

David Wright will also have some of his amazing wire sculptures on show, some in place within the churchyard.
There will also be musical interludes from Alan Morris on the church’s Norwich organ and maybe the odd guest

Thorpe Market: St Margaret of Antioch

The current church was opened in 1796, replacing a medieval church that had a tower and an aisle and that had fallen into disrepair. We don't look like a 'traditional' Norfolk church but the scale and intimacy of the building will ensure a warm welcome to our services and events. If you come as a visitor  our 'difference' will add to your Norfolk church experience.

Thorpe market is a small rural community and the church is situated on the edge of the village.

Several of the congregation come from outside the parish. The church is used by various groups for exhibitions.

Worship and Prayer

Services, normally of Holy Communion, are held monthly and a list of the services for 2026 is below. Refreshments are served after each service. The attendance averages 15.
