Celebrate Black History through harmony and song! If you worship at church here you are warmly invited to sing with Bruce Ncube on 18th Oct, for a donation to the church roof fund.
If you attend a group activity here please contact us for ticket prices. (details below). Thank you.
We will enjoy some delicious accessible harmonies, in this very beautiful space with glowing wood, gorgeous acoustics, and vibrant modern reclaimed stained glass, for an all round sensory experience. Thank you to the church for your hosting support.
Bruce specialises in teaching traditional Zimbabwean/Southern African songs in 3 to 6 part harmonies. The songs and harmonies are emotionally charged and uplifting, designed to build each participant’s confidence with singing. His method of teaching and singing is in the traditional oral/ aural way; reminiscent of when people in Africa would gather around a fire in the evenings, or whilst working in the fields and start weaving harmonies. We have 30 people booked and welcome more. Tickets must be pre-purchased if not a worshipper at the church.
This workshop will be inclusive and highly participatory. You do not need to be experienced in singing to take part.
Please arrive 10 for 10.30. Event lunch approx 12.30 for 30 mins, please bring your personal lunch with you and a mug and a bottle of water. Please take your rubbish home and recycle if possible. Hot drinks available lunchtime for donation to church. Event closes 3.30. (4.5 hours singing offered).
Example links showing Bruce at a different event (not ours) are to be found on youtube.
