Rev Margaret Fowler led the Service at the War Memorial on Sunday, 9 December at which over 3,000 were estimated to be present. Methodist Minister, Rev Moses Aygam read from Malachi 4.1-5 and Jim Rose of St John the Divine led the prayers. Uniformed groups across the town took part in the Parade. The Deputy Lieutenant of Essex laid a wreath on behalf of HM the King, and Richard Holden MP laid a wreath on behalf of the political parties. Churches, uniformed groups, schools, businesses, and service clubs, all laid wreaths. A special wreath was laid on behalf of the Ukrainian community by Stephen Dray. Refreshments were served afterwards in St Mary Magdalen Church for those who took part in the Parade.
