Re-visiting Embu Diocese, Kenya - May 2026

This was an extremely busy trip visiting schools, the orphanage in Embu, the Sunday Service, a Mothers' Union event, the Ciamanda Education Committee Meeting, and meeting with young people who are being sponsored by Christ Church through senior and University education.  The furthest school we visited took three hours to get there in a very dry and hot region.  It's a small school where we are helping them to renovate 4 classrooms which had rocky floors and no windows and doors. So far we have enabled them to renovate two and a half classrooms out of the four that need doing.  The donations needed are minimal at around £350 per classroom.  Everyone was so delighted to see us and showed us around the latest classroom where renovation has begun with a new floor and the walls have been repaired.  This classroom still needs windows and a door.  The furniture looks as if it is from the 1940s and is in a very poor state.  We were so warmly welcomed everywhere we went.
