We have two Commenwealth War Graves in our churchyard. Both date from the First World War.An application has been approved to erect a plaque near the churchyard entrance and we are currently awaiting installation.A short history of the two fallen soldiers is attached.
Do you have any memories of this tree?Was it used as a backdrop for your wedding photo?Did you collect conkers here?Did you find an egg at an Easter egg hunt?Or did you just sit under the tree on a summer's day and admire the view?Would you like a souvenir of the tree truink? If so, please help yourself, but take care as the pieces are heavy. Sorry, but these have now all been removed within a month of originaly reported.
The Church of England has committed to being carbon neutral by 2030.We have already reported our Energy footprint to the Diocese and the next step is to complete an Environmental Audit. As a result, st Mary's, Great Parndon has received a Bronze Award. Further work is required to receive a Silver Award, which will be initiated over the next 12 months. See attachment for certificate.
