You are very welcome at our Advent and Christmas services and events – bring your family and friends or come along on your own. Whether it will be your first time at church or you have been before, we look forward to welcoming you!

Our regular pattern of 10am services during the year is - 1st and 3rd Sundays - A Service of Holy Communion 2nd and 4th Sundays - A Home Team Lay Led Service of Morning Prayer and Praise 5th Sundays - Where these occur we join together with friends from other churches on rotation either here or at St Michael's, Woodham Walter or St Margaret's, Woodham Mortimer. A Christingle Service followed by the Lighting of the Tower Christmas Tree

A Christingle Service where we remind ourselves of the meaning of the different parts of the Christingle, we sing hymns and a carol by candlelight and then we make our way outside to see the Tower Christmas Tree light up the sky. This service is followed by refreshments provided by The Friends of Purleigh Church.

Christmas Eve Crib Service

Is it a crib service or an ad hoc nativity with adults and children wearing tea towels and crowns?
It's probably a bit of both! Come along and join us as we hear the nativity story, sing carols and wait patiently and excitedly for the arrival of the baby Jesus. We would love to see you.
And at the end of the service we might even sing 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' to help you travel home smiling.
