Maundy Thursday Eucharist

Occurring
for 2 hours, 30 mins
Venue
All Saints Church, Southend on Sea
Address
1 Sutton Road/Southchurch Road Southend-on-Sea, SS2 5PA, United Kingdom

This evening service is a beautiful and atmospheric service which includes the Eucharist, remembering “The Last Supper” before Jesus and the disciples retired to The Garden of Gethsemane.
Mthr Phyllis will wash the feet of those who wish to participate just as Jesus did for his disciples.
The Blessed Sacrament will be taken into the Lady Chapel, beautifully decorated with flowers and candles to represent The Garden of Gethsemane. It will then be guarded by us in the form of “The Watch” when you are invited to sit with us for as long as you wish! The watch finishes at 10.30pm
At the end of the service, the altars are stripped of all cloths and ornaments representing the stripping and humiliation of Jesus at the hands of the Roman soldiers
It is a beautiful service to which you are very warmly invited.
