Evening Worship - Light from light for light.

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Stisted: All Saints
Address
Stisted: All Saints, All Saints' Church Church Walk, Off THE STREET Stisted Braintree, CM77 8AW, United Kingdom

On the 25th January our worship at Stisted Church will take place at 4.00 p.m. and will be a Service of Prayer to mark the end of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Therefore, there will be a greater focus on prayer with greater 'audience participation' interacting with the Leader. All are welcome to join together in this act of worship.

I still have to hark back to when I watched Paddington in Peru with our grandson. The film included the quote from St Francis of Asissi: “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”

Well, we are still focusing on the power of light, and lighting candles to symbolise that light, as we hear from St John's Gospel (12: 31-36):

35Jesus said to them, ‘The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you.
If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going.
36While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.’
