Carols by Candlelight

Christingle Service

The 4.00 pm Christingle Service on Christmas Eve is for families and young children.  There is a crib, there are candles, and each child is given a Christingle.  In case you haven't seen a Christingle, it is an orange with a candle on top and sweets on cocktail sticks stuck into the sides.

We meet at 11.30pm, to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, marking the beginning of Christmas Day with carols, prayers, readings, and Holy Communion (Eucharist). It's a significant, and often beautiful service, symbolising the arrival of the "Light" into the world, and serves as the first official celebration of the Nativity.
