Family Communion for the 17th Sunday after Trinity: celebrant the Revd. Simon Winn

First reading: 2 Timothy 2. 8-15
Gospel: Luke 17. 11–19

Today's readings follow on from the 'mustard seed' Gospel account we heard last week. Paul, now being treated as a dangerous criminal for his evangelism, writes to Timothy of his own faith in adversity. The Gospel tells a deceptively simple story - only one of the ten cured lepers returns to thank Jesus, yet Jesus tells him 'Your faith has made you well'. Does he mean that the man's gratitude and faith has 'made him well' beyond the healing of his physical ailment?
