The First Mass of Christmas: celebrant the Revd Tola Badejo

First reading: Titus 2. 11 – 14
Gospel: Luke 2. 1 – 20

As so often happens, the first reading tonight leaps ahead of the narrative of the Gospel, explaining in clear and simple terms why the Nativity mattered to early Christians and matters to ourselves. The contrast today is particularly clear: no-one involved in the events Luke describes could have fully understood them at the time, but the epistle summarises their importance: 'the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all'.

The Midnight Mass will be our only Christmas Day service this year.
