Family Communion: 'in and out of danger'.

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
Kidbrooke, St Nicholas
Address
Whetstone Road Kidbrooke London, SE3 8PX, United Kingdom

Family Communion: celebrant the Rev. Marion Barber
First reading: Exodus 1.22-2.10
Gospel: Matthew 2.13-15
This is the second of our 'Young People in the Bible' series, focused on the danger faced by Moses and Jesus as infants and the way Moses was saved by the initiative of an older child. The painting above by Cornelius de Vos represents the delight and wonder of the wealthy women who find Moses; their instinctive human reaction contrasts with the inhuman policy of the Egyptian rulers who had ordered that all male Israelite children should be put to death.
