REVD TONY CANT
Tony was born and raised in Australia, went travelling in his late teens, met his wife, and also God in New Zealand in 1981, where he stayed for 15 years before moving back to Australia in early 1994. He and his family spent 5 years in Australia doing a mix of pastoral and missional work before moving to the UK in mid 1999 where he worked as a youth and community development worker in the Docks of London’s East End for 5 years. Tony was ordained in 2004 in Chelmsford Cathedral and spent a further 6 years as a Priest in Walthamstow, before becoming the Chaplain to Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford between 2010 - 2018. During this time he developed and ran the International Community Experience (ICE) volunteering projects, and grew a multi faith Chaplaincy team.
Tony has held many posts over the years including: factory worker, fisherman, dairy farmer, youth and community development worker, seminar presenter and pastor, and is now the Priest-in-Charge of Writtle with Highwood, and Roxwell churches.
