Safeguarding

St Gabriels Huyton takes its duty and obligation to protect all extremely seriously. We have adopted the national Church of England’s robust procedures and guidelines. You can find out more about the national policies and procedures at

Our safeguarding officer is Mrs Jacqui Houghton (fore general safeguarding enquiries please call the parish office to make an appointment with Jacqui) or follow the directions on our noticeboards if you have any specific or urgent safeguarding concerns. 

Our Disclosure and Barring Service verifier is Mrs Jill Jevons in the parish office.

Our clergy   and office holders  undergo regular safeguarding training.  All PCC members and other church volunteers   have a current DBS and complete safeguarding training as required by legislation.

On the newly introduced Parish Safeguarding Dashboards system, St Gabriel's is currently fully compliant @ 15th October 2025 to level one (general compliance) and is actively working towards completing of the advanced requirements of levels 2 and 3
