The women's project gives the space, tools and care to women who are fleeing domestic abuse or at risk of domestic abuse. Our dedicated worker is a trained Independent Domestic Violence Advisor, she offers open coffee mornings and a domestic abuse recovery course, as well as individual case work.

St Mark's Downham

St Mark's is a small church on the edge of the Downham Estate, located on the corner of Baudwin Road and Castillon Road. Most of the action at St Mark's is focused on our midweek activities, including Welcome Club, Messy Church, and our Mental Health and Wellbeing Group.

St Mark's does not currently have a Sunday service, so we join with our sister church, St Luke's a short distance away. St Luke's is located on the corner of Northover and Shroffold Road, BR1 5JR (the 124 bus goes from St Mark's to St Luke's) and the service is at 11am.

Hall Hire: If you would like to hire our hall, please email [email protected] - there is no phone number for hall hire enquiries, these are dealt with via email.

The District Church Council (DCC) of St Mark’s Downham recognises the need to safeguard the children, young people and adults in our care and guard against the possibility of any form of abuse of children, young people and adults by persons who may be acting in the name of our parish. We take our responsibilities to safeguard everyone who attends our church very seriously and have therefore paid due regard to safeguarding policy and procedure. We therefore resolve that we will comply with the duty under section 5 of the Safeguarding and Clergy Discipline Measure 2016 (duty to have due regard to House of Bishops’ guidance on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults).
