Christmas Tree Festival 8 and 9 December 2023
St Margaret's Church Queen's Road Ilkley

The beautiful church of St Margaret’s on Queen’s Road will be filled with a stunning display of Christmas trees individually decorated by local schools, charities and community groups. Vote for your favourite Christmas tree; enjoy music and singing by local performers including church and school choirs, the Rock Choir and local musicians; sample our tasty seasonal treats on sale along with hot drinks and juice. Sit a while with friends and family and enjoy the sights and sounds of Ilkley’s Christmas Tree Festival in beautiful St Margaret’s. Funds raised will support food banks in Ilkley and Bradford and St Margaret's Energy Fund. Free entry.

We finish the weekend with St Margaret’s Christingle service at 3.00 pm on Sunday, December 10th – bringing our community together for a family friendly, joyful celebration of light and hope.

An early celebration of the Eucharist with a short homily.

A short and interactive time of morning worship suitably especially for families. Children lead the reading, serving, and singing. On the second Sunday of the month we celebrate the Family Mass.

A celebration of the Eucharist in the beauty of our catholic tradition, with choral and organ music, incense, and ritual. Sunday School is available for children.

Come and celebrate Christ's light with oranges, candles and sweets! A service for all the family based on the famous Christingle. Followed by refreshments.

The traditional service of Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, with music from our adult choir. On Feast Days Evensong concludes with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

A spacious celebration of the Eucharist with few words, and plenty of time for prayer and contemplation.

During Advent we celebrate a 'Rorate Mass' by candlelight (same day and time).

Midweek celebration of the Eucharist, followed by coffee and social time in the hall.

The traditional Christmas service of readings and music. Sing some of the great carols (including 'While shepherds watched' to the tune of 'On Ilkley Moor' - in the Parish of Ilkley Moor!) Hear music from our choir by Vaughan Williams, Rathbone, Darke, Stanford and Willcocks. Followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the hall.

A family re-telling of the Christmas story as we build the crib, with carols, and refreshments afterwards. Please arrive early to get a seat at this very popular service.

Join us for our beautiful 'Midnight' Mass, starting at 10.00 pm, as it turns midnight in Bethlehem. One of the highlights of the year, with beautiful carols, and music from our choir including Charpentier's 'Messe de minuit.'

Celebrate the birth of Christ with a joyful Mass on Christmas Day.

On the first Sunday of each month, join us in the hall at 9.15 am for our session of Godly Play, with beautiful story-telling, craft activities, and refreshments. Godly Play is a wonderful way for children, especially young ones, to engage with their spiritual side. Suitable for all the family, and a great way to get to know people.
