Our church life during Lent 2021

Worship on-line. After nearly a year, we continue (in partnership with West Lane Baptist Church) to create a weekly half-hour act of worship, accessible from the front pages of our churches’ websites and Facebook pages, with audio accessible by phone (01535 286387 - calls charged at local rates and typically included within your call package).

Worship on Zoom. Our new provision is that the Revd Anthony Bennett is developing several opportunities in the week for people to share a little fellowship and then simple prayers. The link for this, and for the children’s Friday Church which has continued on Zoom, is available from [email protected]

Sunday 5.00 p.m. Evening Prayer
from the Book of Common Prayer
Tuesday 10.00 a.m. Morning Prayer
from contemporary Common Worship
Wednesday 9.00 p.m. Night Prayer
which is often called Compline
Friday 3.00 p.m. Contemplative Prayer
which is the existing Breathing Space group

Worship in person in our church buildings. At the end of the last lockdown, we began to provide this again in a carefully prepared Covid-secure manner. We feel really bad at not thinking this is safe or sensible to do so at the moment. We will start again as soon as we can.

Worship at home. A fresh set of readings and prayers are put up every ahead of each Sunday now at brontevirtualchurch.blogspot.com.

Lent Group on Zoom. Our usual pattern of a film based ‘course’ (in partnership with West Lane Baptist Church) at 6.00 p.m. on the Sundays in Lent has also moved to Zoom this year. The link for this is available from [email protected]

Pastoral contact. After nearly a year, some members of our congregations are still making sure that at least a hundred different households have a regular or periodic phone call to keep in touch, but do feel free to phone the Revd Peter Mullins (648464) or the Revd Anthony Bennett (279624) if you are missing out or if you’d like a chat with either of them yourself (and the Revd Julie Roberts, although she is off work unwell as Lent begins).
