Evensong takes place on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during term times. A meditative and reflective service that lasts for around 45 minutes, Choral Evensong also gives visitors and worshippers the opportunity to experience the incredible voices of the Cathedral Choir

Evening Prayer takes place on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and is a simple said service. During school holidays Evening Prayer takes place every day.

A simple service at 7.45am daily held in the Cathedral and live streamed for you to share.

Please note that on Sundays, this service is only available to watch online.

At the Sung Eucharist we gather together, listen to readings from the Bible and a sermon or talk, pray and sing together.

Junior Church meet at the Cathedral Learning Centre at 9.30am for an interactive craft activity before making their way over to the Cathedral for communion.

During these services, the whole congregation will be invited to share in the bread and wine. If you receive communion in your own church, you are welcome to receive communion here. If you do not normally receive communion, you are invited to come forward and receive a blessing.

Join us for Choral Eucharist with the Chelmsford Cathedral Choir.

This service is more formal in style with regular guest preachers and the Cathedral Choir singing a full Mass setting.

This meditative and reflective service last for around 45 minutes, giving space to pause for a moment as the day draws to a close. Evensong also gives visitors and worshippers the opportunity to experience the incredible voices of our Cathedral Choir, who perform different, specially-selected choral works as part of each service.

Please note that Sunday Choral Evensong takes place during term time only. Please see the events section of the Cathedral website (accessed from the home page) for the latest details and for details on special services held on a Sunday afternoon. When Evensong does not take place, Evening Prayer will be said and you are welcome to attend.
