Chatterbox is our group for those who are older in years, but young at heart!

It is a time for sharing a cup of tea or coffee and a cake - and for sharing conversation with each other, around tables set out in the Emmanuel Hall. There is a short thought from the Bible, and occasionally an outside speaker will address the group: over the last few years, we have been pleased to welcome a local doctor, representatives of our Safer Neighbourhoods team from the MET, and a spokesperson for Morden Hall Park from the National Trust. There is something for everyone!

Our meetings take place on the second Tuesday of the month, all from 2 to 4pm in the Emmanuel Hall. Visitors are always very welcome. Emmanuel Toddlers takes place on Wednesdays from 10 to 11.30am at the Emmanuel Hall. It runs during school term time, for most of those weeks. Children under primary school age are very welcome to attend with their parents or carers. There is no charge for the group.

At the sessions, the children can play with a room full of toys. We have a craft activity, and separate things for younger and older children to enjoy. You can see some of the things we have done and made recently on this page.

During our all-together time, there is a story and some songs and rhymes for everyone to enjoy. There'll be a short Christian story and song too.

We welcome new members - drop us a line beforehand to let us know that you're keen! Due to demand we are operating a Week A / Week B system, so attendance for regular members is currently on a fortnightly basis. We're running a Christianity Explored series, and you'd be very welcome to come along. It's designed as a chance to take a closer look at the life and claims of Jesus, in Mark's Gospel.

You won't be asked to read out loud from the Bible, nor to pray. We'll be using films from the makers of Christianity Explored, and copies of Mark's Gospel - everything is provided. Come with your questions - no question is out of bounds! And hear and read what the Gospel of Mark has to say about the identity and mission of Jesus.

The course will be taking place in the Emmanuel Church Lounge. Each session will last for 1 hour and 30 minutes (allowing some time for refreshments at the beginning), and the course runs for seven sessions in total. This is the evenings course, starting on Wednesday 7th January; if it's more helpful to you to come in the mornings, see the separate entry for that course, starting on Thursday 8th January. Every Sunday, our main church family time is at 10.30am - you're very welcome to join us. Once a month, there is an all-age service, and on another occasion in the month, we share communion together. Check our website to see more information.
