Church will be open on Thursday 15th October between 6.45 and 7.30pm, as part of the Wave of Light for Baby Loss Awareness Week. Pop in to light a candle, say a pray, remember a little one, have a conversation, be in the peace of our beautiful church - you are welcome here.

Old Church Smethwick

Smethwick Old Church is both an historic building and a family of Christians. Built in 1732 using money left by Dorothy Parkes, our Grade II* listed parish church is the oldest building in Smethwick - closely followed by The Old Chapel pub next door! We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to share in worship, growing faith and work with our local community.

We'd love to welcome you to any of our regular and special services, and you can find details of these on this page. For enquiries about baptisms, weddings or funerals please contact our Vicar, Revd Sara Moore via [email protected] or 07473 385789.

Safeguarding

Smethwick OId Church is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Anne Mazungunye. Our Diocese of Birmingham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO (via www.smethwickoldchurch.org.uk) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Steph Haynes (07342 993 844 or [email protected]) If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
