About Us
St Giles Church has stood on this site for over 800 years. As you step into this ancient church, so secluded and peaceful, the very stones seem to whisper with prayers of centuries, asking us to be still, to feel humbled yet very very welcome.
Set in rural countryside on the edge of the West Midlands conurbation, St Giles offers a haven from the pressures of every day life, a place for calm meditation. Yet it has thriving congregations, a choir, bell ringers and a vibrant social community.
At the end of September 2025 the Rev’d Canon Patrick Gerard was installed as the Priest-in-Charge at St. Giles Packwood. This means that the three churches of St. Michael’s Baddesley Clinton, St. Mary’s Lapworth and St. Giles Packwood come together to form what is known as an ‘Oversight Area’. An Oversight Area is a group of parishes working together and sharing resources.
