Harvest Hymns and Pimm’s on Sunday 27th September

Packwood church was exquisitely decorated for a modern variation on the traditional harvest festival; a drop in singalong with requested favourite hymns, followed by Pimm’s. Naturally “We plough the fields and scatter good seed on the land” led selection of hymns but many well-known favourites also featured, including some were learnt in our school days such as “Tell out my soul” and there were wedding favourites such as “Love divine”. We are grateful to Andrew Hill who led the occasion and Chris Langman who played the organ. After hearty singing, Pimm’s and freshly pressed apple juice were offered in the Featherstone side chapel. People admired the flowers , fruit and veg. Harvests gifts of non-perishable foods were gathered for distribution to those in need through foodbanks.
