Place to Be Café is a friendly, welcoming social group for older people, people living with dementia, and their carers. It’s a relaxed space to connect with others, enjoy good company, and take a break from the stresses of everyday life.

Join us every Friday from 2.00pm–4.00pm for our café and activity group.

£3 per person (includes tea, coffee, delicious homemade cakes and all activities).

The Café is run by an experienced team of local volunteers who offer a warm welcome and ensure everyone feels comfortable and included. Throughout the year, we offer a varied programme of enjoyable, gentle activities, including:

- Music and live entertainment
- Quizzes and games
- Arts and crafts
- Seated exercise
- Board game afternoons

This type of Café offers important psychosocial benefits for both people living with dementia and their carers. For those with dementia, the group provides meaningful social interaction, mental stimulation, and a sense of routine and belonging. For carers, it offers peer support, understanding, and a chance to relax and connect with others who share similar experiences — helping to reduce isolation and support emotional wellbeing.

Above all, Place to Be Café is about companionship — a chance to share experience, enjoy activities and feel part of a supportive community.
