During term times there is a small act of worship before the St Mary's Toddler Group

This is held in the Lancaster Hall, at 10 am on Tuesday mornings and is followed by the St Mary's Toddler Group, and involves singing, a short bible story and some prayers. This is great fun and the toddlers love it before they play.

This group runs in term time only. If you are interested please email Julie Craig ([email protected]).

Parish Eucharist

Occurring
Every Sunday at for 1 hour

St Mary's, Putney
Address
Putney High Street Putney London, SW15 1SN, United Kingdom

At 10.00 am there is the Parish Eucharist during which, in term-time, Sunday School groups run for children from nursery school age to year 9.

There is a creche for smaller children throughout the year and the Cromwell Room, separated from the main church by a glass wall, is set apart for babies and toddlers to play as their adults sit with them and take part in the service. We hope that the Parish Eucharist is an un-fussy but reverential communion service using traditional hymns and thought-provoking sermons to enable people to re-charge their batteries for the coming week.

Refreshments are served after the service upstairs in The Lancaster Hall

Taizé style service

Monthly. Every Third Friday at for 2 hours

St Mary's, Putney
Address

Every third Friday of the month there will be a Taizé style service. Silent prayer begins at 18h, the service at 18.15, and a simple shared meal together will follow the service.

If you're unfamiliar, Taizé is an ecumenical monastic community set in the hills of Burgandy France and is home to a community of brothers (both Catholic and Protestant) from all over the world. Throughout the year, they welcome young people to pilgrim to the hill and live the life of the brothers for a week.

The worship is based in meditative chants (songs) sung in all the world’s languages, silence, and prayer.

Do as you are comfortable—you can sing, or listen, or pray.

Please email [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to be involved in the service or meal preparation.

Epiphany Chalk Blessing for 2026: 20 + C + M + B + 26. Your clergy team would love to visit your house around the Feast of Epiphany, on 5th January, a traditional time for the blessing of homes and all the life within them. To mark the blessing: the door, lintel or similar are chalked with the 2026 and C M and B for the names of the three wise men (Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar, it also makes the initials of “Christ bless this house” in Latin, Christus Mansionem Benedicat).

At St Mary's Epiphany will be celebrated at the 10am and 6pm services on Sunday 4th January. Please contact Rev'd John by email or phone if you would like a house blessing and a member of the clergy team will be in touch to arrange a date with you.
